Three counter-intuitive insights to help coaching have a real impact in your organization

BEING A STAND-OUT LEADER

IN THESE UNUSUAL TIMES
IS EASIER THAN YOU THINK

If you need better results, more innovation, or a change for yourself or your organization, we both know one thing, you aren’t going to find the answers in “business as usual”. If you want and need a difference, then your priorities are to hone your skills as never before and bridge to others with a fresh perspective, starting with the challenge of “what is possible here?”

Nothing is done alone. Your relationships are key to your sustained success, no matter how you define success. That's why we must learn to motivate, inspire and communicate with others in compelling and insightful ways. Your success depends on how well you use your intellect — and more importantly, your emotional intelligence — to enroll others in your vision. No matter how successful you are, there is certain gain in continuing to develop the skills to attract and motivate the best team members, coach and mentor them to achieve better results, and build deeper and more productive relationships with staff and clients.

At LEAPLeadership Advantage we specialize in
Building Relationships You Can Count On

Kevin Lynch, Clerk of the Privy Counsel,
Government of Canada (Karlin, 2007)

The Bridge Builder
By Will Allen Dromgoole

An old man, going a lone highway,
Came, at the evening, cold and gray,
To a chasm, vast, and deep, and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.

The old man crossed in the twilight dim;
The sullen stream had no fear for him;
But he turned, when safe on the other side,
And built a bridge to span the tide.

"Old man," said a fellow pilgrim, near,
"You are wasting strength with building here;
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again will pass this way;
You've crossed the chasm, deep and wide-
Why build you this bridge at the evening tide?"

The builder lifted his old gray head:
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said,
"There followeth after me today,
A youth, whose feet must pass this way.

This chasm, that has been naught to me,
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be.
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building this bridge for him."
